Road & Mountain Bike Rides

Road Rides

There are group road rides most days in Grafton. These rides are intended for cyclists who have some experience with bunch riding, understand ride etiquette, and are familiar with NSW road rules.

Mountain Bike Trails

For trail riding, Bom Bom State Forest is a great option. It is located about 5 kilometres south of Grafton, off the Big River Way. To reach the trailhead, turn right onto Old Lilypool Road, then travel approximately 2 kilometres west until you reach the last gate in the forest, which is situated on a sharp right-hand bend.

Shared Pathways

Grafton has network of shared pathways which link it with other locations. These shared pathways cross the 'old' Grafton bridge and the 'new' Balun Bindarray Bridge and pass the Grafton railway station and the South Grafton bus interchange. The Balun Bindarray Bridge shared pathway also links with the east shared pathway to Catherine Macauley College. This is also a safe way to access other rides such as Four Mile Lane.

To the north a shared pathway links Grafton and Junction Hill and on to other rides along Trenayr Road, Casino Road and Clarence Way. Clarence Way will take you to Coaldale or the Copmanhurst Loop.

To the west a shared pathway links Grafton and Waterview Heights and on to other rides such as the Eatonsville loop and The Bawden Bridge ride.

Other Rides

If you're interested in the history and architecture of Grafton, follow the Heritage Walking and Cycling Trail.

Just 2 hours north of Grafton is the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail. This section of the trail runs from Crabbe Creek in the south to Murwillumbah in the north. The trail is 24kms each way.  It is well worth the trip!  The second section of the Northern Rivers Rail trail is now open between Casino and Lismore.
