GRAFTON CYCLE CLUB ROAD RACING
We welcome newcomers and encourage riders to come along and experience the excitement of road racing.
Fortnightly Road Races | January to June
Join us every fortnight from January through June for road racing held on our officially sanctioned courses at Pringles Way, Lawrence and Glenugie. Both courses are out and back courses featuring varied terrain, from flat stretches, undulations to challenging climbs, offering a test for riders of all levels.
Racing kicks off at 7:30 AM with sign-on starting at 7:15 AM. We organise a ride out to the race from Market Square, so be sure to check messenger for the time the group departs. Race formats may vary depending on the number of participants.
Summer Criterium Series | August to November
After the road race season, continue racing with our Summer Criterium Series at the Junction Hill Criterium Track, running from August to November. Fast paced, our criteriums offer a great way to hone your skills on the track.
Whether you're a seasoned racer or a newcomer, our fortnightly road races and summer criteriums provide excellent opportunities to challenge yourself and connect with fellow cyclists. We look forward to seeing you on the start line!
Road Pointscore Competition 2026
GCC members (including Add On members) are eligible to compete across four grades (A–D) for both men and women. The GCC Handicapper will grade all riders before the season’s first race and riders will keep their grade throughout the competition. If a rider competes away, they will not be awarded points. Prize money will be allocated across the four grades for both women and men. Riders who usually race but who are on volunteer or commissaire duty will be awarded two points. Riders who finish but are not placed will be awarded one point, while those who do not finish will not be awarded any points. For full Pointscore information check the PDF.
Interclub Competition
Each Spring, our Road Racing calendar features the Interclub Competition, bringing together cyclists from local clubs including Yamba, Northern Rivers, Byron, and Grafton Cycle Clubs. The competition comprises a mix of road races and criteriums, offering a variety of racing formats for riders of all skill levels. This annual event fosters strong community spirit and friendly rivalry! The Interclub Competition is a highlight of the season and a perfect opportunity to race against some great local talent.
